(Serious catch up here!)
It was the second last day before we fly home – and it rained again! We spent part of the morning in the games arcade. The kids played a bunch of games and enjoyed some fun coin rides. And chose their gifts from all the tickets granny had won. The plan was to head out to the Valley of the Waves again, but the gathering grey clouds put paid to that. So, after a quick stop at the Spar for some padkos for all the troops, Craig and I piled all our kids, plus an excited Holly, into our car and headed back to the game park to spend a couple of hours viewing giraffe, ellies, zebras and more. The weather was perfect for it!
Unfortunately, no lions crossed our path this time, but the children still had loads of fun. We headed back to the pool area for lunch and later that afternoon the girls enjoyed making baskets. We rounded off the afternoon with a visit to the crocodile park. Yip – loads and loads of scaly creatures. The weather was still overcast and cool, but other than that, it was a lovely late afternoon. But, just before we got to view the crocodile feeding, the skies burst open. We were drenched! But, wow it was fun watching these freaky oversized lizards with huge teeth snap and swallow freshly plucked chickens! And quite a novelty to hold one – even if it did try to snap me! Yes, there is videographic evidence of that (see below)!
Here is Cam having his croc-holding turn:
All our crocodile fun is here in our Crocodile Sanctuary YouTube video , including my squeamishness:
We arrived home drenched, cold to the bone and with only 1/2 hour before we were due for supper! So, off with the clothes and into the bath for the kids, assembly line style. Pop in bath, wash off, bundle in towel, pass to mom to change … NEXT!
We got to dinner right on time! Well, with Craig taking a quick trip back to the chalet to get the baskets we’d left behind. The kids were very excited about presenting their chosen adult with their special basket.

Unfortunately, I missed getting photos of Sam to his Dad and Holly to her mommy. But I did get this photo of the girls with their grandparents. Kiera particularly was so very sweet, thanking granny over and over for the entire holiday. It was completely unprompted which made it so special – my little girl is growing up!![]()
We had an absolutely delicious meal of meze style foods that Craig and I shared. Yum yum! Actually, all our meals were delicious, but this restaurant was particularly special. Thank you Granny and Gaa again for such a really lovely time!

Oh my God! Look at the size of those snappers! Hope the kids had fun.
